No Repeat November - week 2

The weather has been beautiful here in Spain and it's hard to believe that it's now November. It's lucky that I've included some short-sleeved and lightweight tops in my Autumn capsule wardrobe as a few of my long-sleeved tops are too thick to wear at the moment, and I only need a cardigan or jacket when I leave the house.

Day 1
Day 2 AM
I was meeting friends at lunch time on Day 1 as it was my friend Jacqueline's birthday. That's why I was wearing a glittery top and silver shoes! Day 2 started off fairly warm, however by the afternoon there was a cool breeze, which is why I'm wearing a long cardigan in the photo below. I think it also illustrates how easy it is to change your look by adding just one piece.

Day 2 PM
Day 3
Day 3 was a slight experiment for me, as I decided to wear a blue camisole, which you can catch a glimpse of, under the red top. I love red, and I love the style of the top, however the red I wore last week was a warmer shade, therefore I think it flattered me more.

Day 4
Day 5

The lobelia top I wore on Day 4 was one of Kettlewell's winter colours, so a bit cool for me. I wore it with gold earrings and necklace to make it slightly warmer. In contrast, the teal top in Day 5's picture is far more flattering.

Day 6
Day 7
If you think that you saw Day 6's outfit in week 1's post, you're wrong! It's a similar top however it has a sequinned neckline, which is why I'm not wearing a necklace with it. The cardigan and trousers though are the same. Finally, a ray of sunshine in my last outfit of the week. It's one of my new tops worn with dark brown trousers, turquoise earrings and a scarf that pulls all the colours together.

Let's have a vote again, to see which of these outfits is the most flattering. I think my own favourites are the one I wore during the afternoon on Day 2 (because it makes me look taller!), Day 5 and Day 7.

  2. All your outfits are wonderful! But my favorites were Day 2 (both), Day 6 and Day 7. It's so neat that you're doing the challenge, too.

  3. I agree with Juhli - Nice looks every day. I know you like colour and that really shows in that every day was a different wonderful colour. The lobelia top, winter or otherwise, is a gorgeous colour. Light teal tops have a happy feeling to them. I liked the column of colour on day 2 as well. Matching your shoes certainly elongates the pants. Thank for sharing. Carol S

    1. Thanks, Carol. I suspect the lobelia top will be staying in my wardrobe until it wears out! Shoe matching is one of the tricks I have learnt to look slimmer and taller - always a bonus for me.

  4. I also love Day 2 and 7. The violet in Day 2 really flatters your face, and the lighter trousers keep your looking soft. You should try the aqua top from day 5 with the lighter trousers from day 2. I also love the warm mustard top from day 7. I think you look best with lighter colors near your face. The dark green cardigan from day 6 drains your face of color. Love your choices overall! Great job!

    1. Thanks for your comments. I've made a note to wear the aqua top with the lighter trousers, as I'm going to need to do a bit of swapping around as the challenge progresses, to avoid duplication.

  5. hello! yes! day 2, both outfits and day 7 are smashing! BUT i have to disagree with day 5 because i feel that the royal blue top in day 4 is much more attractive on you...it may be the photo colour/lighting...but your face looks younger and brighter with this cobalt or royal blue next to it...but maybe in 'real life' this isnt so?? i think if you added a scarf to outfit day 6 despite the sequined collarline, it would enliven this outfit...is it green on green or is that a grey sequinned top with olive cardigan? if it is green on green, then a scarf would be lovely...altho it is difficult to see the scarf colours and patterns from your photos...just because there is an embellishment on a collar does not mean you cannot add other prettys! have you tried knotting your scarf in the middle and then tying the 2 ends at the back of your neck, leaving the loose
knot in front? i have seen this with models that have short hair as well as with longer
hair and it looks so classic! how is spain? gosh, what a fun adventure you are having...clothes, travelling and exploring, and staying in touch with us here! you are a busy woman...have fun!

    1. Thanks for your very detailed comments. I think colouring-wise I'm a bit borderline. When I've posted photos of myself in both cool colours and warm ones, not everybody agrees with which are the most flattering colours. The top in day 4 is lobelia, which is as I said a cool colour, however I think with the right accessories it does look good on me. Day 6's outfit is green on green - I will definitely have to look for a scarf to wear with it and try tying it in the way you suggest. Spain is lovely, although the days are starting to become cooler. I don't mind that though if the sun is still shining! It's a great place for people like me who enjoy wearing colour to live in. 2. I liked the green on green (monochromatic). It is more subdued than the other looks for the week but there are times in life when you don't want to be fully colourful. The pants and shoes match really well. A well rounded look. Carol S

    3. Thanks Carol. You are quite right in saying that we don't always want to be brightly coloured - I'm a great believer that the colours you wear can affect the way you feel. Some days subdued is good!

  6. wonder if it would be helpful to have all your photos of the week in the same lighting and place/?

my choices are the same as yours Sue!!!

    1. Good to know we're in agreement! I'll try to remember to take all my photos for week 4 in the same place and the same time of day. It's a good point and will certainly help with comparisons.
