No Repeat November - shopping my wardrobe

I do love a challenge, so I have decided to take part in No Repeat November: read more about it here. In theory I shouldn't have too many problems in wearing a different outfit each day of the month.  I have already created my capsule wardrobe for Autumn and most tops go with most bottoms in my wardrobe. To make it slightly easier, you can wear the same garments more than once, but something in the outfit must be different, even if it's just a different scarf or necklace.

The above photos show my new purchases: three tops, a cardigan and a pair of trousers. Clearly the three tops worn with the cardigan and trousers will give me different outfits for three days, however I could also wear them with my brown jeggings or navy jeans on other days, so now I have enough outfits for nine days. What if I wore my olive cardigan instead of the sand one, or my navy cardigan, or perhaps the brown hoodie on more casual days? I've now created a month's worth of different outfits, without wearing any of the other eight tops currently hanging up in my wardrobe. Don't forget that I can change my accessories too to change the look even more. Thirty different outfits? It really shouldn't be a problem.

I have a very good reason for wanting to take part in this challenge, as I'm taking part in a different challenge at the same time - not to buy any new clothes or accessories in November. This could prove even more challenging than not wearing the same outfit twice in the month! I'm hoping that creating different outfits each day will distract me from the tempting offers arriving in my inbox every morning. Wish me luck! Even better, why don't you join me in one or both of the challenges?

  1. Yay! How neat that you are going to do the challenge, too. And thanks so much for the shout-out!!

I love your new capsule wardrobe. I have my eye on an olive drab duster cardigan and your capsule makes me want it more. I told myself I was done with fall clothes, but green could work for Christmas, too, so look out. ;)

I've added you to my blogroll so I can see your November outfits.

    Have a great day!

    1. Hi Jeanine

Thanks for visiting my blog and for your lovely comments. I'll be keeping an eye on your blog over the next couple of weeks. I like the sound of the olive duster cardigan - but will it still be around in December when I'm able to shop again?! I do have my eye on a couple of things too - so will be dropping hints to my husband just before Christmas.........

      Have a great day too!

    1. Thanks, Mette. I might manage a No Repeat December, but I think a whole year would be a challenge too far for me!

  3. Glad you are joining in Sue. It is already stretching my outfit combinations as I'm only considering clothing items and not jewelry or scarves. I need Mette's random outfit generator program!

    1. I'm going to try and restrict it to clothing items. but it's good to know I can fall back on jewellery and scarves if need be! Mette's random outfit generator would also be really helpful!

  7. Thanks, Debbie. They form the basis of my new capsule wardrobe, though I still have to work with clothes from previous years as shown in the following posts.
